Faux topiaries and artificial hedges are becoming popular décor accessories at homes and businesses. Artificial boxwood topiaries, include artificial boxwood balls, fake boxwood hedges, and almost any other artificial plant formed into a shape. This is the Merriam- Webster Dictionary definition for topiary:  “ of, relating to, or being the practice or art of training, cutting, and trimming trees or shrubs into odd or ornamental shapes; also :  characterized by such work.” That definition speaks of live plants, but the same thing applies to artificial topiaries.

Popular shapes for artificial topiaries include balls of all sizes, spheres, cones, cork screws, and squares. All of these shapes and sizes of topiaries can be created with artificial boxwood hedge panels. Artificial topiary balls are manufactured in various sizes, from 10” to 36” diameters.

Artificial boxwood hedges can be constructed to almost any dimensions. Fake hedges may be attached to existing walls or fences, or they can be constructed as free standing. Portable artificial hedges are popular with event companies, and film and television studios.

California is currently experiencing the most severe drought since weather has been recorded. Live plants are withering and dying. Drastic water restrictions are in place in much of the state already, and will soon hit Los Angeles and San Diego. People are looking at artificial plants as an alternative. Artificial topiaries and hedges are all a part of that.

Geranium Street Floral of San Diego is ahead of the curve when it comes to artificial topiaries and hedges. They have been importing the artificial plants for over four years, and they construct custom topiaries at their facility in San Marcos. Their Pinterest and Youtube pages have many interesting pictures and videos of their artificial plant products.
