Geranium Street Floral builds custom artificial boxwood topiaries for businesses and private residences. The owner of a Pasadena ice cream shop called Geranium Street and requested some topiary trees in the shape of ice cream bars, and the company was happy to design and build them. The artificial boxwood topiary hedges came out fantastic, built to specification, and on wheels so they can be transported in and out.

Artificial boxwood topiaries can be crafted in the shape of hedges, artificial topiary balls, bushes, spheres, and trees. Topiaries, throughout history have appeared in the regal courts of royalty, and they are often associated with special events and pageants. Real topiaries require hundreds of hours of cultivation and maintenance. Artificial topiaries require almost zero maintenance once they are constructed.

“Within reason, we can build almost any kind of artificial boxwood topiaries that people may want,” said Bob Smith, president of Geranium Street. “We need the measurements and a concept of what you are trying to do, and we can build it for you,” Smith said. He explained that they originally built the ice cream shop topiaries to be permanently installed, but zoning regulations prohibited that. We put wheels on the artificial boxwood topiaries, so the owner can wheel them in and out,” said Smith.

Geranium Street has recently provided artificial boxwood topiaries for hotels, restaurants, and apartment buildings. In some cases, the faux boxwood topiaries were installed for privacy reasons. Fake boxwood hedges can be constructed to block incoming and outgoing views. In some cases, people wanted people outside from peering in, and in other cases, artificial topiaries were used to block unsightly views.

Fake boxwood hedges, artificial topiaries, bushes and trees are way more cost effective than real plants, and don’t require precious water. Even custom built artificial topiaries are relatively inexpensive compared to other alternatives, such as a live boxwood hedges, or walls. In many cases, installation of artificial boxwood topiary won’t require a building permit.
